Dominican Sisters Believe Young People Are the Future of Our Church.
They sponsor a variety of programs so young people can hone their skills to be more prayerful, more of service, more connected and supported in their schools, parishes, and most importantly with God in themselves as they are. We want young people to understand the gift they bring to any future they chose. And so we have a high school and college preaching conference and Dominican Young Adults USA
We are women and men between the ages 18-25 who gather together to pray, study help others and have fun. DYA USA provides an environment where young adults can share, explore, and integrate their faith lives. An emphasis is placed on the spiritual formation of each member. Based upon the spiritual traditions of the Order of Preachers (The Dominicans) DYA USA incorporates the foundations of Dominican life, prayer, study, and community as the components of developing a healthly, integrated spirituality.
It’s about gathering together as college students to discover how each of us is called to preach the Gospel message in our own unique way.
You have an opportunity to speak out: In group discussions with new friends. You learn about the Dominican charism of preaching and how that charism can be incorporated into your life,-- through your interests!
Be part of a community. Pray, play, and minister to others on a weekend students talk about with enthusiam.
Dominicans share their faith by preaching. We preach through words, arts, music and action. We preach not only by what we say and how we live, but also by who we are. Dominicans have been practicing the art of preaching for over 800 years with their founder St. Dominic.

An array of speakers representing various congregations and provinces in the Order, will facilitate an experience of yourself as preacher using the mediums of art, dance, drama and music. You will learn how the Word of God is so vital to the life of all Dominicans and come to know ways you can make that Word come alive. Next Conference is May 2012.
